Suzanne Collins may be heavily involved in the production of The Hunger Games movie, but shes perfectly content staying behind the scenes. The author tells USA Today, “I have no need to do a cameo.” Because of the futuristic setting, Collins says it would be “alarming” to appear in the movie. Its not uncommon for authors to make brief on-screen appearances in movie adaptations of their books. J.K. Rowling, Stephenie Meyer and Jeff Kinney are just a few who have popped up in their movies.Though she may not be planning an on-screen appearance, Collins has been hard at work with director Gary Ross, putting the finishing touches on the screenplay. She also wrote the original version of the screenplay itself, before it was handed off to Billy Ray for rewrites.Collins has also been heavily involved in the casting process for The Hunger Games movie, set to begin filming at the end of this month.
