What was it about The Hunger Games that inspired your creation?

The general atmosphere. Because even if it’s supposed to be a book for teenagers, the background is pretty dark, cruel and realistic. There’s a lot of action, but we have the time to learn enough about the characters, the love story is cute, but not too important, so I think this book has just a perfect balance, that’s why i liked it so much.

Are there any fan created Hunger Games projects you’ve seen that you particularly admire?

I really loved the parody one of Britney Spears song, i found it pretty creative and funny, and the song just gets stuck in my head ! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoHfCW-O2yA)

Who in your opinion is the greatest character in The Hunger Games?

I think my favorite character for the whole saga is Finnick, as I love charming and sarcastic characters. But well, concerning the 3 mains characters, I’d chose Katniss without any hesitation, because she’s not that strong, but she has to pretend, she has no other option. She has so many things to face, and she’s still very young, i really admired her courage.

Meet Pattie Dineros, this week’s Fan of the Week. Based on her love of The Hunger Games, Pattie has been creating some amazing Hunger Games inspired art. Here’s a quick interview we did with her for this week’s Fan of the Week.

What was it about The Hunger Games that inspired your creation?

The conflicting/complementary personalities, atmosphere and tension between the characters.

Are there any fan created Hunger Games projects you’ve seen that you particularly admire?

Pungang’s (deviant art) depiction of Katniss is just superb! I swear it’s the most beast depiction of Katniss, ever. It’s what influenced my Katniss artwork.

Who in your opinion is the greatest character in The Hunger Games?

Peeta, he truly represent the rare kindness that a dark world lacks. Defiance is easy, kindness is in a difficult trait to have in a tough world. Without his love, there would have been no rebellion. AND he makes bread, I love bread.

Do you have any other Hunger Games projects you’re working on for the future?

Yes, to illustrate all important characters from the Hunger Games before the movie comes out. All landscape-portait and It will have that same dark atmosphere.

What took more time, reading the entire Hunger Games trilogy or creating your project?

Definitely reading the entire trilogy. I was there when the movie rights announcement was made. Three years is a long time.

Extra: Before the casting was made I had trouble drawing anything Hunger Games related. But as soon as these casting announcements were made, drawing ideas started popping up like daises, it was so sudden It almost seemed like someone was humouring me.
